How to configure a server authoritative time in Windows server 2008

To configure the time correction, look for:

In the right pane, click MaxPosPhaseCorrection, and then click Modify on the Edit DWORD Value, under Base, click Decimal, under value, type the time in seconds, and 3600 (one hour) and then click OK.
Now, go back and click:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services W32Time Config
In the right pane, click MaxNegPhaseCorrection, and then click Edit.
In the Edit DWORD Value, under Base, click Decimal in the Value data box, type the time in seconds that you want to survey, such as 3600 (polls in one hour)
Quit Registry Editor
Now, to restart the Windows Time Service, click Start, Run (or use the command Quick Setup) and type:
net stop w32time & & net start w32time
