Is MS .net framework version 3.5 and Visual developer 2008 free ?

I just downladed Microsoft .net framework version 3.5 and Visual developer 2008.
It includes Sql server 2008
.
Can anyone pls, pls tell me that is it free, or I need to pay licence fee at any stage
The .NET Framework is free. It is a utility that interprets code written in a .NET language (among other things).
When you start Visual Developer 2008, does it state "Express" in the start page? If not, the product you have is not free and you need to purchase a license. The same with SQL server 2008 , it must also be the Express version.
Did you download them from the Microsoft web site?
