It says it works only with windows, but that never deterred an ubuntu 7.04 user. :-)

It all depends whether anyone has written a Linux driver for it - if it needs a special (proprietary) driver.

USB and 5.1 channel surround sound are both supported by modern Linux distros, so there shouldn't be any problems.
