Hi,
I really like to know what's the difference between Server and workstation ?
Thanks a lot
Severs have different functions, depending on what they are set up for, here's a few server types:
Domain Server: Controls a server-client network. It stores user account information, authenticates users when they log on to a client workstation, controls shared storage.
Mail Server: Transfers e-mail from one computer to another
Web Server: Responsible for accepting HTTP requests from web clients.
SQL Server: Manages databases.
A workstation can refer to a PC that is set up on a server-client network, or just a stand alone PC. It can also refer to a high end computer that usually runs Unix or some other multi-user operating system used for graphic intensive engineering work.
