x server configuration

IP address configuration question.?
I work at a company that has remote sites trying to access an exchange server through a private network. The remote sites are on networks such as 192.168.1.X, 192.168.2.X. Our exchange server is on 192.168.168.X network, all default subnet masks. How do you set up access to the server when they are on different networks? Is this a firewall issue, a dns or dhcp issue? I'm new to networking and I need a little direction. Thanks for your help.
If each subnet (192.168.1.X, 192.168.2.X, and 192.168.168.X) is on a different site then you need to connect them through VPN for them to use Exchange internally with Outlook.
Another option is to setup Exchange as a POP3 Server and you only need to open your firewall port 25 and 110 and forward the traffic to the exchange server IP. You will have to setup an MX record in the DNS Server that manage the domain name so it can use and forward the emails to exchange. This opens your Exchange Server to some risks as well as your network due to the open ports and vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers.
Another option would be to use WebOutlook so all sites can use the web interface. You loose some functionality, but it works quite well.
One thing to mention is that when you connect different subnets that are in the same physical location or remote Windows computers will not be able to see each other in the Network Neighborhood unless you setup a WINS Server to tell other computers what is connected in the LAN.
To connect different subnets on the same site you need to work with the routing tables so traffic is transfer among subnets properly. Not difficult to set, but difficult to troubleshoot.
By subnet I mean a logical division achieved with a router.
Hope I did not confused you more.
You can also install 3SP SSL Explorer to map some of the ports in exchange so remote users can logon to the server remotely.
Another free vpn is OpenVPN.
Cheers!
