Where can i find my port number and proxy server address?

My computer had a virus, so i had to get it wiped. Now i can't watch dvds anymore because apparently i need a 'dvd decoder'. So i bought the dvd decoder from a company windows recommended, installed it, but it won't activate because a dialogue box keeps coming up stating 'The action could not be completed. If you connect to the internet via a proxy server please enter the proxy server address'. I've asked the admin dude (i'm living on campus), who gave me the proxy but didn't understand why i'd need a port number or what it could be. I was advised to go on 'run', type in 'cmd' and then 'netstat', but none of those have worked. Any advice.. pretty please?
Btw, i've e-mailed the company a million times and they're feckin' useless.

If you are on a Local Area Network the address will be listed.
On Explorer Tools, select internet options > connections > LAN settings > tick proxy server box then click advanced. Your proxy address and port number is listed here.
