What Operating systems are best in the long run to use for servers.?
put into consideration stability, how well the compliment with other machines, software support and maintenance. The servers OS I am using are Fedora Core 5 and Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. The main server is windows and the backup is the Linux machine. We were thinking of moving over to LINUX but we had some software incompatibilities.
Some people claim BSD is more stable than Linux. Yahoo uses it for this reason.
