file server directory structure
How are an FTP servers files structured?????? and how do you navigate them?

FTP servers files structured like??????

navigate them by starting at the top and hierarchy by selecting a directory name that is close to the topic you wont and then you will be able to select directory names that are more close to your topic, sometimes you may have to go down many levels before you fined what you are after.

I didn't fully got what you mean. Is it hard to see the files and remember where they are?

To navigate FTP servers you must have an FTP Client which I assume you already have, check out FileZilla, it's free and awesome.

And the only way to find your folder again is by going by all those directories unless you know the exact folder location which you would type in the box above in the middle right of Filezilla that will take you to the located you inserted right away.

Well, most of the web hosting FTP Servers comes with the root folder 'htdocs' that has your server's config file, domains and sub domains files.

htdocs
>
domain.com
>
home.htm
about.htm

As for gaming FTP servers, as I recall from my old gaming server (it was GTA:SAMP), the FTP server holds the files of SA-MP's server.exe...so basically It's easy to navigate since I know them from running it on my local...

Filterscripts
Scripts
modules
pawno
banlist.txt

something like that.
